Intelligent Pressure Sewer Systems

Intelligent Pressure Sewers offer councils and water utilities the opportunity to control their network of pressure sewer systems to achieve a predetermined outcome. Most often, these systems are utilised to control peak instantaneous flows from the pressure sewer system into new or existing downstream wastewater collection system. This can be a compelling benefit when councils are trying to manage already capacity limited pump stations and wastewater treatment plants.

Intelligent Pressure Sewers are designed to be owned and operated by a central authority (like a council or water utility). The components of the Intelligent Pressure Sewer are more complex and can have greater operational costs when compared to a Standard Pressure Sewer System. Additionally, in order to receive the most benefit of the system, the responsible authority should have a clearly defined strategy and objective with implementing the system.

Ecoflow are excited about the opportunities Intelligent Pressure Sewer Systems can offer. However, they are not for all users and many benefits (like infiltration identification, reduced installation costs, etc.) are available with Standard Pressure Sewer Systems.

iOta Onebox Controller

Monitor and control your low-pressure sewer system remotely and in real time.

With the Onebox Intelligent Sewer you can monitor the status of the sewer connection to regulate flows and remove peak volumes from the network. You can significantly reduce flows compared to gravity and uncontrolled pressure sewer systems, and also avoid exacerbating overflows downstream during storms.

OneBox Intelligent Sewer provides opportunities for significant savings in capital expenditure and allows growth without worsening capacity issues and overflows. It also enables easier maintenance of pipelines.

Christchurch City Council began utilising Intelligent Pressure Sewers to manage flows post earthquakes. These systems enabled infill development to extract additional capacity and permit a greater number of connections into the existing infrastructure.

Christchurch City Council owns and operates the vast majority of their Standard and Intelligent Pressure Sewer Systems.
